London rapper, Oakley Neil H T Caesar-Su or well known as 'Central Cee' had many heads turning on Monday. The British Fashion Awards was hosted at Royal Albert Hall, a prestigious event where the best suits and dresses on show for the world to see. Central cee had a different idea, as he walked the red carpet in a tracksuit, breaking the traditional style of suits and dresses that had been set by celebrities for the last few decades. The London rapper usually uses Instagram to post his outfits and the majority of his posts consists of him wearing tracksuits. Therefore, his fans can recognise and reassure everyone who is unaware of the artist, that he was simply being himself.

"I dressed like this 365 days a year I’m not changing it for one day. It’s not even my wedding day. I went there as me.”

The young artist wore Nike tracksuit bottoms, a Decathlon jacket and Dior trainers. The specific name for his tracksuit bottom is "Nike Tech Fleece" and is notably a popular tracksuit for the younger generation across England. While many celebrities chose to choose a dressing style which reflects past traditions, he chose to represent himself and the youth of today.
French fashion designer, Simon Porte Jacquemus, who recently collaborated with the rapper, appreciated the honest appearance: “Best look tbh” he replied to the rapper’s Instagram story.
Despite the backlash and jokes surrounding Central Cee's outfit, the rapper responded with humour on his TikTok. In the video, he admits "maybe I do need a stylist".
Decathlon UK were very proud that their garments were worn at such event, they used images of Central Cee at the awards to further promote their brand and express their joy.
In one of the two videos, they tagged Central Cee with the caption "we see you [eyes emoji]".
Only a day later, they posted another video suggesting that the HQ is busy at work after Central Cee's visit to the Fashion Awards.
It seems that Decathlon are now racking up sales, meanwhile Central Cee is stacking streams. He' takes the crown for UK rap this year, being the first UK rapper to reach over 1 billion streams on Spotify in a year - no wonder why he made it to the Fashion Awards.
